One of the recommendations of the Think20 (T20)* was that the G20 should facilitate an overhaul of the IMFs governance models and transform SDRs to become a central pillar of the global financial safety net. (Taskforce 3, Reccomendation 1, page 31)
*T20 is the “engagement group” that supports the G20 by producing evidence‑based policy proposals
Leaders declaration
The final G20 Leaders Declaration stated that “We acknowledge the importance of realignment in [SDR] quota shares to better reflect members’ relative positions in the world economy while protecting the quota shares of the poorest members”(para 56).
