GRADE was recently used in a submission delivered to the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD).
For this analysis, it was assumed that the contribution of the UK and its network of overseas territories to human rights deprivation is proportional to its responsibility for tax abuse worldwide.
It was found that if governments had additional revenue equivalent to the UK’s contribution to their tax losses, 5 million people would drink cleaner water each day and 11 million would use safer sanitation. Critically, more than 1 million children would attend school.
